Summer event a great success
Radian staff and residents had a great day at the Queensgate Summer Event in August, which was held to introduce the new residents’ committee.
Prizes for the tombola were donated by nearby businesses and local residents. There were toys, books and children’s clothes on sale, and residents kindly baked cakes and donated biscuits, and there were some lovely fruit kebabs on offer for those who wanted a healthy option.
Mr Giant came along for the day with his amazing magic tricks, juggling skills, balloon shapes and other games, which included trying to ride a bicycle which goes left when steered to the right!
Our friendly face painter was kept very busy, while the children also had great fun climbing in and out of the seats of a sparkling fire engine.
The biggest laughs of the day came from playing the ‘Wrap the Mummy’ game. Using toilet rolls, teams of four had to wrap one of their team up as a mummy, although the children managed to also wrap up Community Development Officer Angela Sleet! Almost £120 was raised so a big well done to everyone who got involved on the day.
