Sing For Joy!

'Sing for Joy' gave their end-of-term show in St. Mary Magdalene's Church, Oakhanger, on 3rd December 08.  Despite being a very cold evening, a very appreciative audience of friends and relations braved the elements to turn up for it.  A very enjoyable programme of songs, Christmas songs and carols was enjoyed, with solos, and the audience were able to participate.  Afterwards, in the Village Hall, refreshments were partaken with hot soup and wine.

The show was a tribute to Rosie Painter, a much loved member of the Group and the Community, who worked so hard for the Church and the village.  She always had a 'things to do' list.  Rosie sadly died in October and is very much missed.  A raffle and a collection were held in her memory.  It is hoped to replace the Vestry curtains, as this was on her list, and she wanted a bench and table at the back of the Village Hall so that people who used the hall could sit out and have their tea or coffee.  

Everyone had a happy evening and our thanks go to Lorraine and Kevin who give us so much help and encouragement.
