Sticky labels can easily be removed from glasses and ceramics with plain old-fashioned lighter fluid. The fluid will quickly evaporate and you can wipe off the residue with a cloth or tissue.

Make skinning garlic a much simpler process by soaking the cloves in water for an hour before the task – it’ll make your job much quicker and easier.
Remove small oil stains from clothing with a medium hot iron and a clean rag. First put the item with the stain on the ironing board, single thickness, then sprinkle with talcum powder to cover the stain. Next place the rag or a piece of cloth over the patch, and run the iron over the rag/cloth for about 10 seconds. Bye-bye stain.
If you’re struggling to remove the inevitable build-up of sand you have accumulated after a day at the beach, simply sprinkle some talcum powder over yourself. The sand comes right off as you brush away the powder, leaving you feeling soft rather
than gritty!
