Do you think that the green areas are kept up together?
Or do you feel that your neighbourhood needs a makeover?
We’re planning a summer-in-the-sun, out-and-about with our residents on some estate walkabouts and everyone is welcome to come along.
What are estate walkabouts?
We already carry out monthly inspections where there are communal blocks, including fire risk assessments, if you would like to be a part of these visits let us know.
We’re also going to have three walkabouts this summer on each area Neighbourhood Officers cover. We want to make sure the neighbourhoods we manage are safe, well-maintained places you are proud to live in.
How can I get involved?
We want to know how you rate your neighbourhood or estate. Is it 4 for Excellent? Or 3 for good? Maybe 2 for Satisfactory? Or 1 for Fail? We’d really like to know what you think the best scoring system should be. Your Neighbourhood Officer will use the same scale as well. They’ll rate on things like whether there is litter around and how good the grassed areas and shrub beds are looking. We’ll also invite our partners like the Police and the local authority to do the same. But don’t take our word for it – come along and give us your views too. We’ll keep you posted on dates in the near future.
We will produce an action plan for each area. After the walkabout, we’ll ask you if you think things have improved. We’ll tell you the results in a future R Magazine and the noticeboards we’re erecting in some internal communal areas. With over 17,000 properties, we can’t visit everywhere. We’re very keen to know if you think we should visit your area.
Don’t forget: you can log communal repairs online via the website. We have a special pot of money for neighbourhood improvements so give us your ideas about how you can improve your neighbourhood and we’ll try to make it happen.
